How to Play
Gridiron Battle · All-Era Roster Draft
The Drill
Every roll locks in a team and a decade. You draft what the dice give you, with no takebacks.
Pick one player from that team and era into any open slot on your offense.
Fill all twelve slots: head coach, quarterback, the skill players, and five offensive linemen.
Full Squad adds four defensive anchors for sixteen total: a defensive tackle, a linebacker, a cornerback, and a safety.
When the roster is full, it grades out of 100 and projects to a season record and finish.
You cannot sign the same player twice out of the same decade.
What's Scored
Slots are weighted. Quarterback counts the most, then head coach, then your left tackle. The interior line counts least.
Line fit: a natural tackle at LT or RT, or an interior lineman at LG, C, or RG, adds +2. Playing out of position drops the grade by 3.
Receiver fit: a true slot man in the SLOT, or an outside receiver at WR1 or WR2, adds +1. A wrong fit simply gets no bonus.
Heisman bonus: a Heisman Trophy winner on your roster adds +3 to his grade; a Heisman finalist adds +1. Winners are marked H in the box score, finalists F.
After fit, any single grade is held between 40 and 99.
Full Squad: the final number is 60 percent offense and 40 percent defense. Each defensive slot takes only its own position, so a cornerback fills the corner and nothing else. There is no fit bonus or penalty on defense.
Modes & the Hall of Fame
Era sets the dice: All-Era rolls every decade, 80s+ starts at the 1980s, 90s+ starts at the 1990s.
Era sets the dice: the college pool starts in the 1990s. All rolls every decade from the 90s on, 00s+ starts in the 2000s, 10s+ in the 2010s.
College drafts the twelve-man offense only. The pool is programs that reached a national-title game or the College Football Playoff in that decade.
Squad: Offense drafts the twelve. Full Squad adds the four defenders. If a rolled team and decade has no one who fits an open slot, the dice simply never land there, so you are never stuck waiting on a team that cannot help.
Difficulty: Blitz hides ratings and fit hints while you draft. Rookie shows FIT and OFF markers as you pick. The final score is identical either way; Blitz is simply blind.
The Hall of Fame records Blitz runs on each league's full era span only. NFL Offense, NFL Full Squad, and College each keep their own global board. Any other setup still plays and scores, but will not post.
Season Tiers
Full Squad blends offense and defense, so its scores sit higher and tighter. It uses its own recentered ladder over the same tier names, and a typical random build lands around Fringe.
